Only a couple blocks past the noisy congested tourist area. Two brothers—one cooks, one hosts. We had the vegetarian options—salad, gnocchi, and cacio e pepe. Excellent flavors! I enjoyed the grappa made by their grandfather—wonderfully flagrant and smooth.

A little off from the tourist areas but definitely worth the walk. The highlights of the meal were the tiramisu, ravioli, and ossobuco. The bacon on top of the pasta was some of the best bacon I’ve ever eaten, definitely suggest getting that. The bread was very nice and soft too! There’s nice outdoor seating and even has good rain protection if needed. 5/5 stars for sure.

Very laid back restaurant with great ambience. The buffalo mozzarella was very creamy and flavorful. We tried carbonara with truffles as well as the amatriciana is amazing. My favorite tiramisu I had in Italy! Highly recommend if you want to get away from the touristy areas.

Great affordable lunch spot close to the Vatican with a cozy, rustic atmosphere. We split a starter salad, two pastas, and beer for about €17 per a person. Salad ingredients tasted very fresh and the pasta (especially the carbonara) was extremely tasty and suitable portion. Service was kind which is always a plus.

We had carbonara and pasta with tomato pistachio sauce. It was delicious and we loved it. Fried artichoke was ok for us. Didn’t know how to eat them. lol.

Enjoyed the pastas here, including cacio e pepe. Affordable hot meals & wines. Just a 5-minute walk from the popular Vatican Museum, slightly further away from the madding crowd

I have been coming to Rome since 2012 and that is the first time i have visited Osteria AR 65. It is still as i remember it, the food is local with good price, no tourists and just a great place to have a good dinner to round up a day of walking al over Rome. There are a couple of dishes that i remember of the years, one is the bean stew with pig skin, i mean yes it does sound a bit wierd but it tastes fantastic, trust me. Trippa is another one, actually first place i tried Trippa ever was at OsteraAr 65, you have to try it if you are here. But the thing that wows visually is the antipasto to share, its just fantastic. i highly recomend this place. a very non-touristy place but still so close to the vatian.
